SUCCESSFUL DRY DOCKING FOR ANZAC FRIGATE

08 February, 2012

The Common User Facility’s floating dock at the AMC in Henderson has been a hive of activity with the docking of the first ANZAC Class frigate HMAS Toowoomba, in February 2012.

HMAS Toowoomba was successfully dry docked as part of UGL’s ship repair and refit services to the Department of Defence. The eight-hour docking involved using the floating dock to align HMAS Toowoomba with UGL’s new cradle which was positioned below her.

THE CUF is a key part of AMC which is being delivered in partnership by LandCorp, Department of Commerce and AMC Management to provide a centre of excellence for fabrication, assembly, technology, repair and maintenance servicing activities in the marine, defence and resource industries.
